The "Sol" by Ronchi di Cialla is a wine that embodies the quintessence of the oenological excellence of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This white wine stands out for its singular elegance and complexity, offering a unique sensorial experience that reflects the high quality of the grape variety and the winery's passion for high-level winemaking.

Visually, Sol has a straw yellow color with golden reflections that anticipate the richness and maturity of the wine. On the nose, it opens with an intensely aromatic bouquet, characterized by notes of ripe fruit such as peaches, apricots and melon, followed by accents of white flowers and a subtle aftertaste of vanilla and toasted almond, the result of skilful maturation in barrique.

In the mouth, the texture is rich and enveloping, with a perfect balance between refreshing acidity and a subtle sweetness that amplifies the fruity flavors. The well-integrated minerality leads to a long and persistent finish that leaves traces of sweet spices and a pleasant freshness.

Ideal as an aperitif, Sol di Ronchi di Cialla pairs beautifully with delicate appetizers, fish or seafood dishes and fresh cheeses. It is also an excellent companion for chicken or turkey dishes seasoned with herbs.

With its distinctive aromatic profile and structural elegance, Sol is a wine that promises to evolve and mature well over time, becoming even more complex and fascinating. This wine not only represents the winemaking art of Friuli, but also celebrates the indissoluble bond between the land and the Ronchi di Cialla winery.

Led the recovery of Schioppettino, bringing it back from near extinction. Official cru "Cialla" recognized by ministerial decree. 'Biodiversity Friendly' certification for practices supporting biodiversity. Family-owned winery with selective production and a long-standing practice of aging in wood. Winery featured by importers and international technical data sheets.
Winery history
The Rapuzzi family founded the estate in 1970 in the small Cialla valley, restoring local vineyards and helping to save Schioppettino when the variety was nearly lost. In the 1970s and 1980s the winery perfected the recovery of vine cuttings, produced the first vintages of Schioppettino and received recognition that brought Cialla’s wines to international auctions. The denomination and boundaries of the Cialla cru were officially established by ministerial acts and regulations in subsequent years, consolidating the estate’s reputation as a custodian of Friulian indigenous varieties.
Production philosophy
The estate works exclusively with native grape varieties, favoring controlled yields, selective harvesting and minimal agronomic interventions. In the cellar, winemaking is kept as natural as possible and wines undergo extended ageing — including in wood — to achieve long-lived wines with a strong expression of terroir. Biodiversity protection and low-impact practices are integral to the production method.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the Cialla valley, a small hilly amphitheatre overlooking the Colli Orientali del Friuli, characterized by a tempered microclimate between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps and by marly, well-stratified soils that favor the cultivation of local indigenous varieties. The area is officially recognized as the cru CIALLA for certain traditional varieties.
