The Susumaniello Valle D'Itria IGP by Paolo Leo is a red wine that captures the essence and character of the native grape varieties of Southern Italy. This label represents an exemplary wine that has garnered appreciation from connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike, thanks to its extraordinary varietal expression and winemaking mastery.

Produced in the picturesque region of Valle d'Itria, famous for its trulli and breathtaking landscapes, Paolo Leo's winery uses selected Susumaniello grapes. This lesser-known yet highly promising grape variety is regaining popularity due to its potential to produce deep and intense wines.

The winemaking process is meticulously carried out to preserve the grape's aromatic characteristics, followed by controlled temperature maceration that helps extract soft tannins and a deep color. The aging process in steel, with brief passages in wood, allows this wine to maintain the fruit's freshness and acquire complexity without being overwhelmed by the wood.

Visually, the Susumaniello presents an intense ruby red color, almost violet. On the nose, it is rich with aromas of berries such as blueberries and blackberries, light spicy notes, and an elegant vegetal touch reminiscent of the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, the wine exhibits a robust yet balanced structure, with silky tannins that envelop the taste buds and a persistent finish that invites another sip.

Ideal for pairing with robust Mediterranean cuisine, such as roasts, lamb dishes, or aged cheeses, Paolo Leo's Susumaniello promises an enveloping and memorable tasting experience, reflecting the richness and vibrancy of its terroir of origin.
