The Teroldego Rotaliano DOC by Dorigati is a quintessential red wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige region, known for its extraordinary intensity and unique character. This wine is produced exclusively with Teroldego grapes, cultivated in the alluvial areas of Campo Rotaliano, a region that benefits from a particularly favorable microclimate, thanks to the protection of the surrounding mountains and the influence of the Adige River.

The winemaking process for Teroldego Rotaliano follows traditional methods that emphasize the typicality and purity of the fruit. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo a maceration and fermentation process in stainless steel tanks, followed by a maturation period that can range from several months to a year in wooden barrels, to further develop the wine’s complexity.

Visually, the Teroldego Rotaliano by Dorigati exhibits a deep ruby-red color, sometimes with violet reflections. On the nose, it offers a rich and intense bouquet, with notes of ripe forest fruits such as blueberries and blackberries, enhanced by spicy and subtly herbaceous nuances. On the palate, it is robust and full-bodied, with a well-balanced tannic structure that promises great aging potential. Flavors of dark fruit blend with hints of chocolate and a touch of black pepper, leading to a persistent and satisfying finish.

This wine pairs beautifully with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. It is also an excellent choice for special evenings or as a highlight in a tasting of robust wines. The Teroldego Rotaliano DOC by Dorigati is not only a pleasure for the palate but also an authentic expression of the Alpine terroir, which continues to captivate enthusiasts of Italian wines.

Winery history
The Dorigati family has been active in Mezzocorona for generations: the company traces its origins to 1858 and developed as a family-run business dedicated to viticulture in the Piana Rotaliana. The current premises at Via Dante 5 date back to the early 20th century, with later extensions and a winery renovation completed in 1998. In the 1980s the winery also launched the Methius project, a Trento DOC Metodo Classico reserve.
Production philosophy
The winery focuses on territorial identity and quality: traditional viticultural practices, cluster selection and winemaking designed to bring out the character of the individual vineyards of the Piana Rotaliana and the pedemontane hills. It produces both 'classic' wines tied to the territory and Metodo Classico sparkling wines, with attention to artisanal process management.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are concentrated in the Piana Rotaliana and on the foothill slopes of Mezzocorona, with some plots associated with specific crus, such as the 'Bagolari' vineyard. Some Traditional Method cuvées come from hilly areas such as Faedo and Pressano; the soils include fluvial and glacial deposits typical of the area.
