Cabernet Sauvignon DOC Friuli - Terre Magre - Piera Martellozzo

The Cabernet Sauvignon DOC Friuli by Terre Magre, produced by Piera Martellozzo, is a refined expression of one of the most beloved and widely cultivated grape varieties in the world. This wine, hailing from the prestigious winemaking region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, embodies the unique characteristics of the terroir it originates from, distilling in every sip the passion and innovation that define the Martellozzo winery.

Visually, it presents a deep ruby red color, with garnet hues that emerge with age. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet where ripe red fruits like cassis and blackberry stand out, enriched by nuances of green pepper, dark chocolate, and a slight herbal touch typical of Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be balanced and structured, with well-present tannins that are elegant and promise good aging potential. The acidity is well-balanced and leads to a persistent and pleasantly spicy finish.

Ideal for pairing with hearty dishes like red meat roasts, stews, and aged cheeses, this Cabernet Sauvignon is particularly suited for wine lovers who appreciate a substantive and characterful red. The careful selection of grapes and the state-of-the-art winemaking techniques used by Piera Martellozzo winery ensure a high-quality product that reflects the excellence and typicity of the Friulian territory.

Winery history
The company’s history dates back to the late 19th century, with the first generation of the Martellozzo family active in 1899 in the province of Padua. In the 1990s Piera, of the third generation, took the helm of the business, began re-evaluating indigenous grape varieties and launched its first organic line. In the early 2000s the headquarters were consolidated in San Quirino, in the Friuli Grave area, serving as the starting point for expansion into national and international markets.
Production philosophy
The estate combines respect for the land with an innovative approach: careful selection of well‑suited vineyard parcels, the production of wines that reflect the local territory, and a focus on sustainable practices through measures such as photovoltaic systems, lightweight packaging, water reuse and careful selection of label materials.
Terroir and vineyards
Primarily operating in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with ties to the Triveneto region; the wines are an expression of gravelly soils and a microclimate tempered by the Adriatic and sheltered by the mountains to the north.
