This particular whisky stands out for its final maturation in Oloroso Sherry casks, which give it a rich aromatic profile and an unparalleled depth of flavor. Initially, the Seiridh (pronounced "sheh-ree") matures in traditional oak barrels, acquiring the typical sweetness and smoothness that characterize Speyside malts. The final phase in Oloroso Sherry barrels enriches the whisky with intense notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, and sweet spices, making it complex and enveloping.
On the nose, the Seiridh offers an inviting combination of ripe plums, figs, and a slight hint of peat, followed by a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it opens with the richness of sweet malt, perfectly integrated with flavors of raisins, chocolate, and a subtle streak of spiced wood. The finish is long and satisfying, with an aftertaste of burnt caramel and a light persistence of exotic spices.
