Winery history
Nils and Ombretta Drost began looking for a place to farm in 2019 and took over the estate in 2021, succeeding Catherine and Philippe Delesvaux. The new direction aims to showcase the region's dry Chenins while maintaining the area's biodynamic tradition.
Production philosophy
Production focused on biodiversity and regenerative viticulture: certified organic and biodynamic practices, hand-harvested grapes, moderate use of sulfur and copper, biodynamic preparations and experimentation with unconventional ageing vessels. The stated aim is to restore balance to the vineyard and allow the terroir to express mineral and floral profiles.
Terroir and vineyards
Located on the Corniche Angevine, in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné, the vineyard is part of the Armorican Massif. Soils include arenaceous and Carboniferous schists, quartz and other Paleozoic formations. The climate benefits from a transitional influence between the ocean and the Loire Valley, often described as an "Angevine gentleness."
