The expression of Laphroaig PX Cask is a captivating elixir that celebrates the meeting of Scottish traditions and Spanish influences. The initial maturation in American bourbon casks and European oak casks is followed by a finishing period in casks that previously contained sherry Pedro Ximénez, giving this whisky a complex character and additional layers of depth.
On the nose, Laphroaig PX Cask offers a powerful impact with smoky notes typical of Islay peat, paired with sweet accents of raisins and dark chocolate. On the palate, the strength of the smoky flavors is harmoniously balanced with notes of dried fruit, figs, and a hint of sweet spices. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste where peat smoke and sherry sweetness intertwine in a satisfying ending.
This whisky, presented in an elegant tube, is a premium choice for lovers of smoky and complex spirits, representing an authentic expression of the Laphroaig distillery with an international twist. Perfect to enjoy neat or with a slight addition of water to enhance further aromatic nuances.

Distillation
Double distillation in copper pot stills (pot still); the plant comprises seven stills (3 wash, 4 spirit) with high lyne arms and cut points designed to preserve tarry and maritime notes.
Ageing
Maturation in oak casks in coastal warehouses; seasonal variation (expansion in summer, contraction in winter) promotes interaction between wood and spirit. Frequent use of ex-bourbon for the base with finishes or re-racking in different wood types for specific expressions.
