On the palate it confirms the sense of balance: the entry is soft, the ripe fruit blends with a malty base and very delicate tannins, while the clean palate enhances drinkability. The finish is pleasant, with returns of light spices and citrus peel that fade slowly. Distillation
For single malts traditional copper pot stills (wash still and spirit still, double distillation) are used; the blend combines malt and grain distillates produced with the techniques typical of each type, then assembled by the master blender.
Ageing
Maturation in wooden casks (mainly oak) in bonded warehouses; the minimum period for Scotch is 3 years, while Ballantine's maintains stocks aged for decades for some expressions.
