Two production sites on the island: Lochranza (core non-peated production) and Lagg (peated production since 2019). Policy of no added colouring and, for many expressions, no chill filtration. Traditional single malt production: use of malted barley (selected varieties), local spring water (Loch Na Davie), fermentation in wooden washbacks and double distillation in copper pot stills. Use of different cask types for maturation and bottling mainly at 46% ABV or at cask strength for some expressions.

Modern production at Arran began in the 1990s: the Lochranza distillery was built and commissioned in the mid-1990s, with the first official distillations dated 1995. The company, commercially known as Isle of Arran Distillers, later opened a second facility (Lagg) for peated spirit production. Over time it has developed a range of single malts with both age-stated and no-age-statement releases, wine-cask finishes and a line of cream liqueur.
