Amaro: prepared according to the traditional recipe with a long infusion/maceration process of herbs, roots, spices and citrus peels until the desired intensity is reached. Grappa (Frattina): distillation of the pomace, described as a slow distillation of Chardonnay pomace.

Producer history Averna
The original recipe dates back to 1868, when a friar gave the formula to Salvatore Averna. Production remained a family tradition and over time the brand established itself in Italy and abroad; in 1958 the company became Fratelli Averna S.p.A. and in 2014 the Averna Group was acquired by the Campari Group. Historically the drink is linked to the territory of Xiboli and the province of Caltanissetta (Sicily).
