Distillation and production

Production method

They start from a neutral cereal spirit; the botanicals (including juniper) are macerated in the spirit for 24 hours before distillation in historic copper pot stills. After distillation, blending, dilution and bottling are carried out to achieve the desired ABV levels.

Producer history Beefeater

The origins trace back to the Chelsea Distillery; James Burrough purchased the distillery in 1863 and, experimenting with various recipes, created the product that would become Beefeater. The brand is historically identified from the late 19th century (often cited as introduced in 1876). Production progressively moved and expanded to the current Kennington site. In 2005 the brand joined the Pernod Ricard group, which launched an investment and range relaunch program.
