Production method
Vatting/blending of single malts exclusively from Speyside; predominantly matured in Spanish sherry casks (Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez) with some ex-bourbon hogsheads in certain releases. Some editions (e.g. the 10 years) were bottled non-chill filtered and without added colouring.

Maturation mainly in Spanish sherry casks (Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez); some blends also include ex-bourbon hogsheads.

Scallywag was introduced as part of Douglas Laing & Co.'s Remarkable Regional Malts series, the independent Glasgow bottler. The Scallywag line highlights malts from the Speyside region and has been released both as a core NAS expression and in age-stated or seasonal/themed limited editions.
Production philosophy
To showcase the rich, fruity Speyside profile by blending selected single malts, with a strong influence from sherry-cask maturation and periodic special releases designed to emphasize particular notes (e.g. chocolate, seasonal themes).
