Winegrowers' cooperative based in Bolzano (Kellerei Bozen – Cantina Bolzano). Formed from the merger of the Gries (1908) and Santa Maddalena (1930) cooperatives, it comprises 224 members and produces native varieties (e.g. Lagrein, Santa Maddalena) and premium ranges such as TAL. The new San Maurizio winery (opened 2018) is CasaClima Wine® certified.

Winery history Kellerei Bozen - Cantina Bolzano

The cooperative originated from two historic cooperatives: Gries (established 1908) and Santa Maddalena (established 1930). They merged in 2001 to form Kellerei Bozen – Cantina Bolzano. In 2018 the cooperative moved to its new premises at Via San Maurizio 36, Bolzano.

Production philosophy

Cooperative philosophy focused on quality and sustainability: care for the land, gravity-fed (top-down) vinification, sustainable vineyard management and energy efficiency (CasaClima Wine® building). Chief winemaker: Stephan Filippi.

Terroir and vineyards

Approximately 350 ha of vineyards around Bolzano, between 200 and 1,000 m asl; principal sites include Gries, San Maurizio, Siebeneich (Settequerce), Missian, San Giorgio, Cologna, Santa Maddalena, San Giustina, Coste and Renon.
