Winery history San Patrignano

The winery was established in the late 1970s within the Comunità di San Patrignano. Initially, it produced straightforward Sangiovese and Trebbiano wines using artisanal methods. Over the years the vineyards were expanded and new plantings introduced, including international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet and Chardonnay. The Montepirolo line has become the flagship label, the result of investments in the vineyard and winemaking.

Production philosophy

Wine production is part of a social and educational project: work in the vineyard and cellar provides professional training opportunities for the young people of the Community, with a focus on wine quality and sustainable practices.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located on the hills surrounding Rimini, a few kilometres from the Adriatic Sea and Monte Titano, with an average elevation of around 200 m. The soils are predominantly clayey and rich in limestone, a characteristic that contributes to the identity of the wines.

Awards and recognitions

Montepirolo has received the "Tre Bicchieri" award from Gambero Rosso.
