Winery history Cantina Santa Barbara - Stefano Antonucci

The name derives from the village of Barbara; the production facility is housed in an ancient monastery. The winery reflects a long-standing relationship with the local area, drawing on its historical traditions and integrating them with modern production projects.

Production philosophy

Our work is based on respect for the land, meticulous attention to grape quality, and a balance between promoting indigenous varieties and experimenting with grape varieties and techniques that can engage the international market.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located on the hills surrounding the town of Barbara and extend to Serra de' Conti, Montecarotto, Arcevia, Morro d'Alba and Cupramontana. The soils are described as having a higher clay content and being rich in water, in a belt between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines.

Awards and recognitions

Multiple national and international awards; named "Winery of the Year for Central Italy" in the Guida Top 100 Migliori Vini italiani 2025. Several of the estate's wines have received recognition from specialized publications and wine guides.
