Let’s talk about Chardonnay Friuli DOC - Ca Modeano

More questions

The Chardonnay Friuli DOC from Ca’ Modeano is born in the heart of one of the most renowned Italian regions for producing elegant and high-quality white wines. Made from carefully selected Chardonnay grapes, this wine best expresses the unique character of the Friulian territory, characterized by a temperate climate and variously morainic soils. The aging takes place in steel, to maintain freshness and olfactory clarity, enhancing the typical notes of white-fleshed fruit such as apple and pear, accompanied by floral hints and a delicate touch of vanilla.

On the palate, it is harmonious, medium-bodied, and with a pleasant acidity that gives vigor and persistence, ideal for accompanying dishes based on fish, shellfish, or light white meats. The Chardonnay Friuli DOC from Ca’ Modeano is a perfect example of the balance between tradition and modernity in the Friulian lands, capable of delivering fresh and enveloping sensations.

The story
The estate is shown on historical maps and vineyards have been cultivated in the area since 1982; the complex was renovated preserving the villa and farmhouses and has an agricultural tradition that has evolved over time. In May 2023 management passed to cousins Luca and Andrea Cisorio, who have started a relaunch while maintaining the facilities for tastings and direct sales.
Production philosophy
The estate declares a strong commitment to sustainability: it adopts SQNPI-certified integrated production practices, avoids the use of herbicides, fosters biodiversity between the vine rows, and uses resources to reduce environmental impact.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Riviera Friulana, on soils rich in clay and humus a short distance from the sea; the climate is among the driest in the area and is tempered by Adriatic breezes. The vines are trained using Guyot and Silvoz systems.
