The Santenay "1er Cru La Comme" Pinot Noir from the renowned Jaffelin winery is a splendid example of Burgundy's winemaking excellence. This wine is produced exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, hand-picked from vines planted in one of the most prestigious terrains of Santenay. The "1er Cru" designation indicates a superior vineyard classification, ensuring a wine of incredible quality and complexity.

In appearance, the Santenay "1er Cru La Comme" presents a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a rich and inviting bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, complemented by hints of vanilla and sweet spices, thanks to aging in French oak barrels. On the palate, the wine stands out for its elegant structure and well-balanced tannins, which blend into a long and persistent finish.

It is recommended to serve this Pinot Noir at a temperature of 16-18°C. It is perfect for pairing with refined dishes like beef fillet or roast duck, as well as a selection of aged cheeses. With its aging potential, the Santenay "1er Cru La Comme" is also excellent for cellaring for a few years.

Winery history
Jaffelin's cellars are located in the ancient "Caves du Chapitre" connected to the Collégiale Notre-Dame in Beaune: the cellars date back to the 12th century, and in 1816 the Jaffelin brothers began their négociant business on these premises. Over time the Maison has remained focused on blending and in-house winemaking, preserving and restoring the historic character of its cellars.
Production philosophy
The estate combines artisanal methods with a modern approach to winemaking: it produces handcrafted cuvées, uses traditional equipment, and oversees cellar aging to express the character of the different Burgundian terroirs.
