The estate retains a Girondine-style residence dating from the early 19th century. Modern viticulture was relaunched in 1963 by Édouard Carretero. In subsequent years management continued under Philippe Carretero, who developed the vineyard and the range of wines. They practice organic viticulture with a focus on biodiversity and minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar. The approach aims to express the local terroir and produce authentic wines through precise controls in the vineyard and during winemaking.

The estate is located on the Rive Droite, north of Libourne. The vineyard is planted on a plateau of clay‑sandy to clay‑silty‑loam soils with iron‑rich clay layers, a characteristic that favors expressive whites and fresh reds.
