The Viré Clessé Climat Les Gandines - Domaine Des Gandines is a splendid expression of Chardonnay from southern Burgundy, specifically from the Viré Clessé appellation. The "Les Gandines" vineyard is known for its limestone and clay soil which imparts extraordinary minerality and lively freshness to the wine.

This wine is distinguished by its brilliant straw yellow color and intense aroma of white flowers, honey, and notes of hazelnuts. On the palate, it offers surprising complexity with flavors of ripe fruit such as peaches and pears, balanced by vibrant acidity. The light touch of vanilla and butter, derived from barrel aging, integrates perfectly with the wine’s structure, culminating in a long and savory finish.

The Viré Clessé Climat Les Gandines is ideal for accompanying rich fish dishes, poultry in creamy sauces, or as an elegant aperitif. Its refinement and structure also allow for excellent aging potential. A true gem for lovers of complex and structured white wines.

Winery history
The domaine takes its name from its first planted parcel, "Les Gandines". According to the official website it was established by Joseph Dananchet in 1925 and has spanned several generations of the Dananchet family. Over time the vineyard area has expanded, and the domaine converted to organic farming, certified in 2009.
Production philosophy
The production approach aims for minimal intervention: hand-harvesting, parcel-by-parcel vinifications, gentle pressing and slow, respectful fermentations, with ageing in stainless steel and various types of wood depending on the wines. The stated objective is to express the terroir through practices that respect soil life and human health.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Clessé, within the Mâconnais appellation, the estate cultivates vineyards on the hills of the Mâconnais. Sources describe the presence of the area's typical clay-limestone soils and a strong emphasis on parcel-level soil characterization.
