The Viré Clessé Loris from Domaine Des Gandines is a refined example of Burgundy's ability to produce excellent white wines. The blend is primarily Chardonnay, which finds its ideal expression in the specific terroir of Viré Clessé. This wine presents a bright golden yellow color and a brilliance that captures the eye.

On the nose, Viré Clessé Loris reveals a complex bouquet, with notes of white-fleshed fruits such as peach and pear, enriched with hints of white flowers and a subtle touch of vanilla and butter, the result of skillful barrel fermentation. On the palate, the balanced structure of the wine emerges: the acidity is well balanced with the richness of the fruit, leading to a persistent and aromatic finish.

It is a wine that pairs splendidly with rich fish dishes, such as baked sea bass fillets or seafood risottos, but can be equally enjoyed on its own, as an aperitif, to appreciate all its nuances. Serve at a temperature of about 10-12°C to enhance all its properties. The aging potential of this wine also makes it ideal for being stored in the cellar for a few years.

Discover the story and wines of Domaine des Gandines.

Family-owned estate located in Clessé, in the heart of the Mâconnais (southern Burgundy), specializing in great Chardonnay-based white wines, managed with organic practices and oriented toward biodynamic methods.
Region: Borgogna (Mâconnais)
Country: Francia
Founded: 1925
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Aligoté
Historic family-owned estate. Strong focus on Chardonnay and the Mâcon-Villages and Viré-Clessé appellations. Conversion to organic farming with certification. Biodynamic practices adopted; some commercial sources report Demeter certification. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, hand-harvested and gently pressed.
Winery history
The domaine takes its name from its first planted parcel, "Les Gandines". According to the official website it was established by Joseph Dananchet in 1925 and has spanned several generations of the Dananchet family. Over time the vineyard area has expanded, and the domaine converted to organic farming, certified in 2009.
Production philosophy
The production approach aims for minimal intervention: hand-harvesting, parcel-by-parcel vinifications, gentle pressing and slow, respectful fermentations, with ageing in stainless steel and various types of wood depending on the wines. The stated objective is to express the terroir through practices that respect soil life and human health.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Clessé, within the Mâconnais appellation, the estate cultivates vineyards on the hills of the Mâconnais. Sources describe the presence of the area's typical clay-limestone soils and a strong emphasis on parcel-level soil characterization.
Awards and recognitions
The domaine lists several medals won in competitions. A detailed list of the medals is available in the "Awards" section of the official website.
