Region: Borgogna (Mâconnais)
Country: Francia
Founded: 1925
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Aligoté
Historic family-owned estate. Strong focus on Chardonnay and the Mâcon-Villages and Viré-Clessé appellations. Conversion to organic farming with certification. Biodynamic practices adopted; some commercial sources report Demeter certification. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, hand-harvested and gently pressed.
Winery history
The domaine takes its name from its first planted parcel, "Les Gandines". According to the official website it was established by Joseph Dananchet in 1925 and has spanned several generations of the Dananchet family. Over time the vineyard area has expanded, and the domaine converted to organic farming, certified in 2009.
Production philosophy
The production approach aims for minimal intervention: hand-harvesting, parcel-by-parcel vinifications, gentle pressing and slow, respectful fermentations, with ageing in stainless steel and various types of wood depending on the wines. The stated objective is to express the terroir through practices that respect soil life and human health.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in Clessé, within the Mâconnais appellation, the estate cultivates vineyards on the hills of the Mâconnais. Sources describe the presence of the area's typical clay-limestone soils and a strong emphasis on parcel-level soil characterization.
Awards and recognitions
The domaine lists several medals won in competitions. A detailed list of the medals is available in the "Awards" section of the official website.
