The Barolo Monfalletto DOCG by Cordero di Montezemolo represents an excellent example of the refinement and complexity that Nebbiolo can express in the renowned Langhe region. This wine is the result of a careful selection of grapes from the historic Monfalletto estate, located in the heart of La Morra, one of the most prestigious areas for Barolo production.

With a deep garnet red color, the Barolo Monfalletto stands out for its intensely aromatic bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, emerge, enriched by nuances of violet, tobacco, and chocolate, thanks also to the aging in wood which adds subtle hints of vanilla and sweet spices.

On the palate, the wine presents a robust yet elegant structure. The balance between the lively acidity and the finely woven tannins gives the Barolo Monfalletto a persuasive texture, which evolves towards a persistent and harmonious finish. This wine is known for its aging potential, gaining grace and complexity over the years.

An ideal match for intense dishes such as roasted red meat, truffle-based dishes, and aged cheeses, this Barolo is a true jewel of Italian viticulture, capable of offering a rich and unforgettable sensory experience. The limited production and care in winemaking make Monfalletto a precious piece for connoisseurs and collectors.

A producer offering regional wines alongside an Alta Langa Metodo Classico sparkling wine. Family-run, with Giovanni, Elena and Alberto actively involved.
Winery history
The Monfalletto estate has documented roots dating back to the 14th century and is linked to the Falletti family; sources trace the estate’s origins to 1340. In the 20th century the property passed into the sphere of the Cordero di Montezemolo family through family ties, and today the estate is managed by the Cordero di Montezemolo family. The winery maintains a commitment to local appellations and has retained a strong connection with the Annunziata and Monfalletto vineyards.
Production philosophy
Production focused on expressing the terroir of the Langhe: separate vinifications and ageing for each vineyard plot, selection of grapes for specific crus, and showcasing indigenous varieties alongside Metodo Classico labels for the sparkling wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The main vineyards are located in the territory of La Morra and in historic crus such as Monfalletto, Gattera and the Enrico VI vineyard. The area is characterized by the hills of the Langhe, variable soils and microclimates favorable to high-quality Nebbiolo.
