The Barbera d'Alba DOC by Cordero di Montezemolo is a true example of Piedmontese winemaking mastery, known for its robust expression of the Barbera variety. Sourced from the verdant hills of Alba, famed for their fertile soils and the ideal climate for viticulture, this wine embodies the excellence of the region.

Visually, it sports an intense red color with violet reflections that hint at its richness. On the nose, vibrant notes of red fruits like cherries and blackberries stand out, accompanied by a subtle hint of spices and a slight whisper of vanilla, a result of its aging in wood.

On the palate, the Barbera d'Alba DOC by Cordero di Montezemolo reveals a solid and well-balanced structure. The characteristic acidity of Barbera blends harmoniously with soft, round tannins, giving the wine an elegant freshness and a pleasant taste-olfactory persistence. The aftertaste is delightfully enduring, recalling the fruity and spicy notes detected on the nose.

Aged in oak barriques, this wine gains a complexity that makes it suitable for aging well, although it is already delicious at a young age. It pairs perfectly with dishes of red meat, game, and aged cheeses, but also with more structured dishes of traditional Italian cuisine.

Thus, the Barbera d'Alba DOC by Cordero di Montezemolo is a wine that satisfies the palate of the experienced consumer, offering a deep and nuanced tasting experience. A classic Piedmontese not to be missed for lovers of quality Italian wines.

Historic Tenuta Monfalletto, with documented historical references dating back to 1340. Iconic wines: Barolo Monfalletto, Barolo Gattera and Barolo Enrico VI. A producer offering regional wines alongside an Alta Langa Metodo Classico sparkling wine. Family-run, with Giovanni, Elena and Alberto actively involved.
Winery history
The Monfalletto estate has documented roots dating back to the 14th century and is linked to the Falletti family; sources trace the estate’s origins to 1340. In the 20th century the property passed into the sphere of the Cordero di Montezemolo family through family ties, and today the estate is managed by the Cordero di Montezemolo family. The winery maintains a commitment to local appellations and has retained a strong connection with the Annunziata and Monfalletto vineyards.
Production philosophy
Production focused on expressing the terroir of the Langhe: separate vinifications and ageing for each vineyard plot, selection of grapes for specific crus, and showcasing indigenous varieties alongside Metodo Classico labels for the sparkling wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The main vineyards are located in the territory of La Morra and in historic crus such as Monfalletto, Gattera and the Enrico VI vineyard. The area is characterized by the hills of the Langhe, variable soils and microclimates favorable to high-quality Nebbiolo.
