This label stands out for its vibrant freshness and intense aromaticity, which characterize the wines of this region.

Those who taste the Grillo from Altavilla della Corte will find themselves enveloped in a rich and complex bouquet, where notes of tropical fruits like mango and papaya expertly blend with hints of white flowers and subtle touches of aromatic herbs. The production of this wine follows a philosophy of respecting the terroir and minimizing interventions in the winery, thus ensuring a product that faithfully reflects the character of the grape variety and the Sicilian soil.

On the palate, the Grillo DOC from Altavilla della Corte presents a balanced structure, supported by good acidity that enhances its freshness. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, with a finish that echoes the same olfactory sensations perceived during tasting.

Ideal as an aperitif, this wine pairs splendidly with seafood, fish-based dishes, and Mediterranean cuisine. It is also an excellent companion for dishes with a certain oiliness or creaminess, balancing the palate with its lively acidity.

In summary, the Grillo DOC from Altavilla della Corte by Firriato represents an excellent choice for those seeking a high-quality Sicilian white wine, capable of offering a rich and pleasantly engaging tasting experience.

Winery history
Founded as a family project by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the 1980s, Firriato has grown by expanding its presence across multiple estates in Sicily and bringing the island’s wines to international markets. The family has remained actively involved in technical supervision and brand development, over time establishing estates dedicated to production, ampelographic research and hospitality.
Production philosophy
The winery pursues an approach focused on respect for the land: careful selection of soils, promotion of local grape varieties and sustainability-focused agricultural management. Firriato declares the conversion of its vineyards to organic farming and has undertaken initiatives to offset and reduce the company's climate footprint.
Terroir and vineyards
The company's holdings are distributed across several estates that represent different terroirs: the hills of the Agro Trapanese, the slopes of Mount Etna and the maritime viticulture of the island of Favignana. The individual estates mentioned in the sources include Baglio Sorìa, Borgo Guarini, Dàgala Borromeo, Pianoro Cuddìa, Giudeo, Cavanera Etnea and Tenuta di Calamoni in Favignana.
