The Chiaramonte Nero d'Avola by Firriato represents an authentic expression of Sicily’s most celebrated grape variety, cultivated in the fertile lands of the island where the sun and soil gift grapes of exceptional quality. This wine is bottled in a practical 375ml format, ideal for those who wish to enjoy oenological excellence in smaller portions.

On the nose, Chiaramonte offers a rich and persistent bouquet, with emerging notes of ripe fruits like plum and cherry, accompanied by subtle hints of spices and a light touch of vanilla, resulting from its aging in wood. The winemaking process is carefully carried out to preserve the typical aromas of Nero d'Avola, while a brief maturation in oak barrels enriches the wine with an elegant and well-balanced tannic structure.

On the palate, it is full and harmonious, with a perfect balance between acidity and soft tannins. The aftertaste is pleasantly long, allowing the fruity and spicy sensations that characterize this wine to linger.

Ideal when paired with robust and flavorful dishes, such as grilled or stewed red meats, aged cheeses, and rich preparations of Mediterranean cuisine, Chiaramonte Nero d'Avola is a versatile wine, capable of enhancing a wide variety of dishes.

A specimen that cannot be missing from the cellar of Sicilian wine lovers, Chiaramonte offers a rich and satisfying taste experience, symbolizing the viticultural excellence of Firriato.

Winery history
Founded as a family project by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the 1980s, Firriato has grown by expanding its presence across multiple estates in Sicily and bringing the island’s wines to international markets. The family has remained actively involved in technical supervision and brand development, over time establishing estates dedicated to production, ampelographic research and hospitality.
Production philosophy
The winery pursues an approach focused on respect for the land: careful selection of soils, promotion of local grape varieties and sustainability-focused agricultural management. Firriato declares the conversion of its vineyards to organic farming and has undertaken initiatives to offset and reduce the company's climate footprint.
Terroir and vineyards
The company's holdings are distributed across several estates that represent different terroirs: the hills of the Agro Trapanese, the slopes of Mount Etna and the maritime viticulture of the island of Favignana. The individual estates mentioned in the sources include Baglio Sorìa, Borgo Guarini, Dàgala Borromeo, Pianoro Cuddìa, Giudeo, Cavanera Etnea and Tenuta di Calamoni in Favignana.
