Winery history Letrari

The Letrari family has been rooted in the Vallagarina region since 1647. The modern family company was formally established by Leonello and Maria Vittoria Letrari in 1976. Leonello, an enologist trained at the Edmund Mach Institute, was a pioneer in experimenting with quality sparkling wines in the 1960s. The winery moved to a modern facility in Rovereto in 2000 and is today run by the new generations.

Production philosophy

Combines family tradition with technical innovation: meticulous winemaking, low, carefully managed vineyard yields, and a production focus on classic method sparkling wines and still wines expressive of the local terroir. Dedicated to hospitality and wine education, offering tastings, guided tours and a wine club.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards scattered across the Vallagarina around Rovereto, with a temperate microclimate influenced by the Adige and the Ora del Garda, and often poor, rocky soils that promote even ripening and concentrated aromatics.

Awards and recognitions

Appearances and awards at international competitions: for example, gold medals won by certain wines at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2023. Also featured in regional guides and circuits such as Slow Wine and Trentodoc.
