Production method
Komos uses 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from the highlands and lowlands of the Tequila region in Jalisco. The piñas are cooked in volcanic stone ovens, fermented with native yeasts and double-distilled in pot stills. Some expressions are subsequently filtered (e.g. cristalino) or blended after maturation in casks.

Double distillation in pot stills, with fermentation using native yeasts.
Ageing
Maturation in wooden casks: various expressions have minimum ageing (e.g. Añejo Reserva ≥12 months; Extra Añejo ≥36 months; Añejo Cristalino ≥1 year before being filtered). Some products are blended from different casks and the cristalino is charcoal-filtered after ageing.

Komos was created with the goal of producing contemporary tequilas inspired by Mediterranean winemaking practices and distributed internationally. On its official site Komos is listed as the primary brand of the CKBG group (Casa Komos Brands Group).
