Arborina di Elio Altare presents a sober, elegant profile typical of great Barolo: the sip is taut, supported by vibrant acidity and fine tannins that define its structure without weighing it down. On the nose there are impressions of small ripe red fruits, rose petal and hints of sweet spice and leather; the texture is complex but never coarse, with a progression that alternates earthy notes and a savoriness that invites a second sip. A mineral finish and a subtle tobacco note complete the picture.

On the palate you appreciate the precision and purity of the fruit, with persistence that balances warmth and freshness; it is a Barolo for contemplation as much as a companion to structured dishes: braises, roasted meats, aged cheeses or mushroom-based preparations. Serve at a cool cellar temperature, allowing it to breathe if already opened, to appreciate its finesse and its ability to evolve in the glass.

Winery history
The Altare family, originally from Dogliani, moved to La Morra in the years following 1948. Elio Altare introduced radical changes after experiences abroad, shifting the family estate toward more modern cellar techniques and a style of Barolo recognized internationally. Today the estate remains family-run, with the daughters involved in its operations.
Production philosophy
Production oriented toward naturalness: vineyards managed without the systematic use of chemicals, fertilized with manure, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation, limited use of sulfites and no fining or filtration. Not declared biodynamic, but traditional methods are preferred and there is respect for the landscape and for staff health.
