Pairing Red meats, game, aged cheeses
On the nose it offers aromas of ripe red fruit woven with dried flowers, notes of liquorice, sweet tobacco and a slight hint of undergrowth that adds depth without weighing it down. It is a wine that aims for balance between concentration and finesse: the body is full but never vulgar, the tannic structure is robust yet finely chiselled, supported by a lively acidity that keeps the sip taut and dynamic.

On the palate it confirms a solid structure and a persistence that invites long reflection; the mouth is warm yet fresh, with aromatic returns recalling cherry, sweet spices and a subtle earthy note. It pairs satisfyingly with structured dishes such as braised meats, roasted red meats and aged cheeses, and can comfortably be left in bottle for further years of development. Serve around 16-18 °C to best appreciate its balance and finesse.

Winery history
The Altare family, originally from Dogliani, moved to La Morra in the years following 1948. Today the estate remains family-run, with the daughters involved in its operations.
Production philosophy
Production oriented toward naturalness: vineyards managed without the systematic use of chemicals, fertilized with manure, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation, limited use of sulfites and no fining or filtration. Not declared biodynamic, but traditional methods are preferred and there is respect for the landscape and for staff health.
