Elegant and concentrated, this Barolo Riserva by Elio Altare expresses the nobility of Nebbiolo with a profile alternating notes of dried rose, ripe cherry and subtle earthy nuances. The aromatic picture is completed by tones of tobacco, sweet spices and a balsamic hint that emerge naturally, while the tannic weave remains dense and smooth, supported by lively acidity that gives lift to the sip. Medium-full-bodied, it shows a balance between tension and softness; the tannins define themselves gradually, imparting an almost silky sensation that balances the structure.

On the palate the progression is savory and composed, with fruit and minerality intertwining toward a long, refined finish; the persistence invites a few minutes of aeration before tasting to appreciate its complexity. It pairs well with robust dishes such as braised meats, game and aged cheeses, but also rewards more considered decanting and a few years of cellar age. Serve around 16-18°C to best capture its nuances.
