The Benrinnes 1978 stands out for its distinctive aromatic and flavor profile, which has been refined and intensified during the long maturation period. On the nose, it offers an elegant complexity of aromas, including notes of ripe fruit, sweet spices, dark chocolate, and a hint of precious wood, all balanced with a light floral freshness.
On the palate, the whisky presents a rich structure and a full body, making each sip a true sensory experience. Flavors of candied fruit, toffee, vanilla, and a hint of subtle peat can be perceived, blending into a long and warm finish characterized by persistent spice notes and a light smokiness.
Presented in a distinctive wooden case, which not only protects the bottle but also further enhances its value as a collectible item, this Benrinnes is a perfect example of how time and care can transform a good whisky into an exceptional creation.
Suitable for being uncorked on special occasions, or as a gift for a whisky lover who appreciates limited editions and products of excellent craftsmanship, the Benrinnes 1978 is a testament to the mastery of Gordon & MacPhail in the art of aging and selecting extraordinary spirits.

Ageing
Maturation in oak casks stored in dunnage warehouses at stable temperatures; predominant use of first-fill barrels (bourbon and sherry) and experimentation with virgin casks and wine casks for the Contrasts releases.
