Blandy's Bual Frasqueira, presented in a wooden case, is an extraordinary expression of Madeira, one of the most famous and historic fortified wines in the world. Produced by Gordon E Blandy's, one of the most respected houses with a long tradition in the production of Madeira, this wine represents the quintessence of quality and excellence. The wording "Frasqueira" indicates a high quality Madeira produced from grapes of a single variety and a single year, aged for at least 20 years in wooden barrels according to the traditional method, before being bottled.

The Bual grape variety, also known as Boal, is one of the classic white grape varieties used for Madeira, producing a wine with a rich, semi-sweet character, with a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. These characteristics make Bual particularly appreciated among the different styles of Madeira, offering an aromatic complexity that can range from notes of candied fruit and honey to those of dried fruit, spices and a characteristic oxidative accent that derives from the unique aging process under heat known as "estufagem".

The presentation in a wooden case adds a further touch of refinement and highlights the collectible value of this Madeira. This packaging not only protects the wine, but also makes it a perfect gift for enthusiasts or a prestigious addition to any cellar.

Visually, Blandy's Bual Frasqueira presents itself with an intense amber color, evidence of prolonged aging. On the nose, it offers a complex and seductive bouquet, with aromas of candied fruit, orange, nuts, caramel and spicy notes, enriched by nuances of wood and tobacco that reflect the aging in oak barrels. In the mouth, the wine is extraordinarily rich and layered, with a sweetness balanced by a lively acidity that leads to a long and persistent finish, marking an unforgettable tasting experience.

Ideal to be enjoyed alone as a meditation or in combination with desserts based on dried fruit, chocolate or mature cheeses, the Blandy's Bual Frasqueira in a wooden case by Gordon E Blandy's is a magnificent example of the tradition and savoir-faire that characterize the production of Madeira, offering a sensorial journey through the history and nuances of one of the most appreciated fortified wines in the world.

Winery history
Blandy’s is one of the historic names in Madeira production: the Blandy family has led the company for generations, and the label is recognised for preserving traditional ageing techniques and for operating the Blandy’s Wine Lodge in Funchal. Over the years the company has kept collections of vintage bottles and expanded its portfolio to include frasqueiras, colheitas and blends of different ages.
Production philosophy
It combines respect for traditional Madeira winemaking practices—ageing in the island’s characteristic rooms and casks—with initiatives in innovation and sustainability. The winery emphasises the varietal origins of its wines and the care taken in ageing to express the different styles of Madeira.
Terroir and vineyards
Operations are concentrated on the island of Madeira, with the winery and Blandy’s Wine Lodge in Funchal. Grapes are sourced from several areas of the island, including Seixal, Câmara de Lobos and Jardim da Serra, and the producer also uses cooler sites, such as Caniçal, for certain ageing.
