Bussia Barolo DOCG 2022 by Giacomo Fenocchio shows an intense and refined profile, with a balance that is immediately noticeable. On the nose it opens with aromas of ripe red fruit, rose petals and light earthy notes, followed by sweet spices and a touch of tobacco. The palate is well-bodied, supported by lively acidity that maintains drive, while the tannins are present but ripe, contributing to a solid structure without weighing it down. The persistence is convincing and invites a few minutes in the glass to evolve.

On the palate it displays a compact yet silky tannic texture, with recurring fruit and a savory finish that makes food pairing easy. It pairs well with flavorful, characterful dishes: roasts, braised meats, stews and aged cheeses are ideal companions; decanting before serving enhances the more complex aromas. Serve at a temperature of around 16-18°C to highlight its freshness and structure, and it will satisfy both now and after a few years of cellar aging.
