The Castellero Barolo 2022 from Giacomo Fenocchio presents a clear, well-defined character: on the nose there are aromas of ripe cherry, rose petal and a slight earthy note recalling tobacco and forest floor. The acidic framework is lively and threaded with a savory freshness that keeps the palate lifted; the body is medium-full and concentration is evident without ever becoming oppressive. The aromas are compact but not closed, suggesting a few years' wait to fully reveal their evolution and already displaying good elegance.

On the palate it shows present but fine tannins that support a balanced structure and deliver a long finish rich in delicate spice. It pairs well with traditionally structured dishes, roasts and aged cheeses, but also with moments of wine contemplation; serve at around 16-18 °C and decant if opened right away. It is a Barolo that combines immediacy and perspective, suitable both for drinking young and for moderate aging.
