This Chambertin Clos De Beze Grand Cru 2023 from Domaines Faiveley shows an intense ruby colour with deep reflections. On the nose it offers a complex but measured profile: ripe red fruits and Morello cherry intertwine with darker notes of plum and delicate spices, while floral hints and a slight earthy component add finesse. The development is linear, with a tannic frame that is present but restrained and acidity that supports the tasting without overpowering. Overall it displays precision and a certain nobility of fruit, without excess.

On the palate it shows concentration and balance; the structure is solid and the finish is long, characterised by fruity recurrences and savory sensations that enhance its persistence. It suits flavorful meat dishes and aged cheeses and may benefit from a short exposure to air before serving. The internal tension invites patience but also gives pleasure if consumed with moderation. It is a wine to follow over time for those who wish to observe its development without overly technical references.

Discover the story and wines of Domaines Faiveley.

Notable Burgundian estate in Nuits‑Saint‑Georges led by the Faiveley family: a wine producer (Domaine) that also operates as a négociant, known for its Grand Cru wines and for wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Region: Burgundy
Country: France
Founded: 1825
Grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Aligoté
Long-established presence in Nuits‑Saint‑Georges and multi-generational family management. Extensive vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. Strong focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; presence of monopoles and Grand Cru. Path toward more sustainable agricultural practices and conversion to organic farming
Winery history
The estate has been part of the Faiveley family since its origins: the original holdings were established in the 19th century in Nuits‑Saint‑Georges and the family progressively acquired parcels in Burgundy’s finest climats. Over the generations the domaine expanded its holdings by adding Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards and has maintained a dual role as both a domaine producer and a négociant. Today Erwan and Eve Faiveley lead the estate; in recent years the group has also extended its geographic presence and has begun transitioning to more environmentally friendly practices.
Production philosophy
Highlighting the terroir and the identity of the individual climats, the family adopts an approach focused on fruit quality, agronomic practices increasingly aimed at sustainability, and the use of technologies and experimentation to reduce environmental impact while preserving the character and expressiveness of the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are primarily located in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, with holdings in Chablis. It owns parcels in numerous Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites and several historic monopoles. It also holds minority interests connected to Pinot Noir production in California.
