The Chardonnay IGT 'Battista' from Tenuta Pandolfa is an organic white wine that presents itself with clarity and brightness. On the nose it offers fresh, linear aromas, with notes of white-fleshed fruit and hints of white flowers; the intensity is moderate and the balance leans toward gustatory substance rather than excessive aromatics. On the palate the attack is clean, with lively acidity supporting the sip and a saline texture that invites tasting without weighing down. Persistence is discreet and the overall impression leaves sensations of ripe fruit and a slight citrus vein, suggestive of a sober, controlled style.

It is suitable served chilled for everyday pairings: white fish, simple shellfish, hearty salads and dishes based on vegetables and fresh cheeses. I recommend a generous glass and a serving temperature around 8–10 °C to appreciate its cleanliness and balance. As an organic production, it may be chosen by those seeking wines from more careful agronomic practices; for further details on cultivation or vinification it is preferable to consult the producer directly.

Agricultural estate Tenuta Pandolfa (Pandolfa), located in Fiumana di Predappio (Forlì-Cesena, Emilia-Romagna). A centuries-old estate focused on Sangiovese cultivation and the production of Sangiovese Superiore (wines labeled BIO/sustainable).
Region: Emilia‑Romagna (Predappio, province of Forlì‑Cesena)
Country: Italy
Grapes: Sangiovese
Vineyards planted mainly with Sangiovese, concentrated in the Predappio subzone. Approximately 30 hectares of vineyard and about 90 hectares in total dedicated to agricultural activity. A stated commitment to sustainable practices, with conversion to organic farming initiated in 2018. A project that brings together wine production, the enhancement of the historic villa, and the artistic communication of the labels.
Winery history
Estate with centuries-old roots (present “more or less since the 1500s”). The estate villa was built between 1731 and 1763; Commander Giuseppe Ricci purchased the property in 1941. In recent years family-led projects (Noelia Ricci, started in the 2010s) have relaunched production with a focus on Sangiovese.
Production philosophy
Approach focused on care for the land, rediscovery of traditional agricultural practices and a move toward more sustainable management (the estate's wines are presented as sustainable/BIO in product sheets).
Terroir and vineyards
Location: Fiumana di Predappio (Predappio subzone, Forlì-Cesena). Elevation reported for some vineyards: 150–200 m asl (other sources note hills 80–250 m). Soil type: brown clay-limestone.
