This Chardonnay from Craggy Range comes from the Kidnappers Vineyard in the Hawke's Bay region. In the glass it shows a bright straw colour and on the nose there are notes of ripe citrus, white peach and pear, accompanied by delicate floral hints and a mineral trace. The olfactory approach is clear and recognisable, without excess, and invites a careful tasting. The aromatic expression reflects the fresh and clean character often associated with wines from this area, with a balance that favours clarity and olfactory detail rather than opulent intensity.

On the palate the sip feels balanced, supported by fresh acidity that highlights the fruit and provides fluidity. The structure is of medium intensity and the finish is clean and precise, with a persistence that recalls citrus touches and a slight sapidity. It pairs well with seafood dishes, baked or grilled fish, shellfish, light poultry and fresh cheeses, but also with vegetarian preparations based on sautéed vegetables or light risottos. It is recommended to serve it at moderate temperature to emphasize its tension and appreciate its characteristic freshness; it is suitable both for an informal meal and for more carefully arranged occasions.
