The Cognac N°90 Grande Champagne from Maison Grosperrin represents an elegant expression of the art of distillation in the heart of the famous Cognac region, precisely in the Grande Champagne cru, recognized for the superior quality of its limestone soils. This distillate is made from selected grapes, mainly Ugni Blanc, which provide freshness and finesse to the distillate, enhanced through a meticulous aging process.

Refined in carefully chosen oak barrels, the Cognac N°90 develops a refined bouquet characterized by notes of ripe fruit, candied citrus, and hints of vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate, it is harmonious, enveloping, and persistent, with a silky texture that invites a long and satisfying tasting experience. The complexity and depth of this cognac make it ideal to enjoy neat, highlighting the nuances of an exceptional grape variety and terroir.

Perfect as a moment of reflection or to accompany dark chocolate and hazelnut desserts, this distillate expresses all the character and elegance of a handcrafted tradition that Grosperrin carries forward with mastery and passion.

Distillation

Traditional distillation in Charentais pot stills (double distillation for most eaux-de-vie); for some historical cuvées a 19th-century-inspired technique is used (e.g. separate vinification and first distillation for individual grape varieties in the 'Cépages' project).

Ageing

Ageing in casks to obtain the typical expression of each cru; lots are aged and monitored individually in the maison's chais in Saintes; some batches spent long periods in external warehouses before arriving at Grosperrin cellars.
