The Côtes-du-Forez Rouge Migmatite Granit from Les Vins de la Madone is a wine that fully reflects the uniqueness of its terroir. Produced in the Forez region, this red wine is distinguished by its peculiar geological composition, particularly by the presence of granite, which imparts distinctive characteristics to the wine.

On the nose, the Migmatite Granit offers intense aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, paired with delicate spicy notes and a slight mineral touch that echoes its granite origin. On the palate, it presents a balanced and harmonious structure, where acidity and tannins blend perfectly with fruit flavors and earthy and spicy nuances.

It is a wine that demonstrates remarkable complexity, ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, game, or aged cheeses. Its aging potential also allows it to be appreciated after several years of storage, when its flavors will have further rounded and integrated.

This wine is not only a pleasure for the palate but also an excellent example of the influence of soil on the character of the wine, making it a valuable addition to any wine lover's collection.

Winery history
The project is led by Gilles Bonnefoy, who began by assembling and leasing plots in the Champdieu area in the late 1990s. Management moved to organic farming in 2001 and to a biodynamic approach with Demeter certification in the early 2000s; the estate gradually expanded its plots around the hill known as "la Madone."
Production philosophy
Parcel-by-parcel work, hand harvesting and separate vinifications to highlight the characteristics of the different soils. Priority is given to natural vineyard management and to certified biodynamic practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located in Champdieu in the Loire department, a high‑altitude area of the Loire Valley. The soils are highly varied: volcanic basalts and several types of granite, which give rise to different aromatic expressions and structural profiles in the wines.
