The Dolcetto d'Alba DOC from Bovio winery is a red wine that elegantly highlights the indigenous characteristics of the Piedmont region. Sourced from vineyards situated on the gentle hills of the Langhe, this wine is made exclusively with Dolcetto grapes, a type of vine that produces wines of great pleasure and drinkability.

Visually, it presents an intense ruby red color, often accompanied by violet reflections that testify to its freshness and youth. On the nose, Bovio's Dolcetto d'Alba DOC unveils a rich aromatic bouquet, where notes of cherry, plum, and a slight touch of bitter almond emerge, typical of this vine.

In the mouth, it features a medium-light structure, with well-balanced acidity and soft tannins making it immediately accessible and pleasant on the palate. The flavor is clean, with a persistent fruitiness that recalls the olfactory sensations. Despite its apparent simplicity, it offers a substantial sip that finishes with a pleasant freshness.

Ideal as an accompaniment to homestyle Piedmontese dishes, Bovio's Dolcetto d'Alba pairs perfectly with light starters, pasta dishes with meat sauces, and fresh or medium-aged cheeses. It is also an excellent choice for a casual evening among friends, always ensuring a pleasant and unobtrusive sip.

Serve at a temperature of about 16-18°C to enhance all its qualities. A wine that represents an excellent example of how simplicity can translate into elegance and drinking pleasure.

Grapes: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Chardonnay
Family-owned winery operating for multiple generations. Vineyards distributed across the historic crus of La Morra and Castiglione Falletto. Portfolio featuring various Barolo labels as well as Nebbiolo Langhe, Barbera and Dolcetto. Emphasis on parcel-based vinification and traditional methods. Renovated tasting room and wine shop open to the public.
Winery history
The Bovio family has been in La Morra for generations. In the 1950s and 1960s Alessandro Bovio farmed grapes on a small scale. In the 1970s Gianfranco renovated the winery, and in the following years the estate began selling Nebbiolo and Barolo. Since then the estate has expanded and modernized the winery, and management has gradually passed to the next generations.
Production philosophy
The winemaking approach is founded on respect for tradition and the land: each vineyard is vinified separately to express the characteristics of the individual cru, with artisanal care in the vineyard and cellar and aging in large casks where appropriate. Attention is focused on patience, precise management of the parcels and fidelity to the character of the Langhe.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located in La Morra and partly in Castiglione Falletto, with estate crus designated as Annunziata, Rocchettevino, Parussi, Gattera and Arborina. The estate reports approximately ten hectares of vineyards distributed across the principal MGAs of the Langhe, with vinifications carried out separately by parcel.
Awards and recognitions
Bovio's wines have received high ratings from international critics: in particular, their Barolo expressions have earned high scores from James Suckling, Robert Parker and Wine Spectator across several vintages.
