The Etna Bianco DOC by Davide Fregonese represents excellence in the Italian wine scene, specifically from the eastern side of Sicily. This white wine is produced from Carricante and Catarratto grapes, typical of the Etna area, which benefit from a unique terroir characterized by volcanic soils and a particular microclimate influenced by the presence of the volcano.

Davide Fregonese's vineyards are located at high altitudes, where the thermal variations between day and night ripen the grapes, endowing the wine with distinctive freshness and minerality. The winemaking process is focused on respecting the raw materials, with fermentations taking place in stainless steel containers to preserve the natural aromas and the purity of the fruit.

This Etna Bianco displays a light straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it offers a complex and intriguing bouquet, where white fruit notes such as peach and citrus can be distinguished, followed by floral nuances and a slight hint of smoky stone typical of the volcanic soil of origin.

On the palate, the Etna Bianco DOC by Davide Fregonese surprises with its refreshing acidity and a medium-light body. Minerals dominate the palate, balanced by a subtle fruitiness and a persistent finish that brings back mineral and citrus notes.

This wine pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood, and Mediterranean cuisine, but it is also an excellent companion for light appetizers or as a meditation wine. Its elegance and complexity also make it suitable for special occasions or as a gift for lovers of characterful white wines.

Winery history
Davide Fregonese, originally from Piedmont and with professional experience in the financial sector, launched the Bugia Nen project by acquiring vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba and in the Etna area. He entrusted technical management and winemaking to experienced local figures to enhance the Piedmont crus and the Etna vineyards, developing the first vintages from 2014 for some labels.
Production philosophy
Seeking elegance and the expression of the terroir: respect for local tradition combined with a contemporary approach in the vineyard and winery. On Mount Etna the philosophy is "give without taking" — that is, to respect local practices and showcase indigenous grapes.
Terroir and vineyards
It operates in two distinct areas: the Langhe and the north-eastern slopes of Etna. Soils range from the calcareous-clay of the Langhe to the volcanic soils of Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Several individual wines have received scores and recognition from international publications as well as guide mentions.
