La Licorne Armagnac Millesime 1971, presented in a wooden case, is a spirit that shows the noble signs of aging. On the nose it opens with a complex profile of ripe dried fruit, a note of prune and figs, candied peels and a hint of rancio; the cask contributes delicate vanilla, fine tobacco and sweet spices. On the palate the sip is warm but measured, with a rounded structure, a balance between softness and lively residual acidity, polished tannins and a pleasant sapidity that supports the progression. The finish is long, with toasted returns and a pleasant warming finale that invites contemplation.

Served at room temperature in a tulip glass, it best expresses its aromatic variations; a few centiliters are sufficient to appreciate its complexity. It pairs with dark chocolate, aged cheeses and dried fruit, or works as a contemplative after-dinner digestif. The wooden case also makes it suitable as a collector's piece or thoughtful gift, preserving the bottle well over time.
