On the palate it is round and enveloping, with a clean sip and a balance between sweetness and freshness that avoids heaviness. The warm, soft sensation makes it enjoyable both neat and as a balancing element at the end of a meal. It lends itself to many uses: served chilled it is an excellent digestif, but it also works well in coffee-based cocktails or as a finishing touch on spoon desserts and vanilla ice cream. It pairs nicely with dark chocolate and delicately creamy cakes, and can be used sparingly to add depth without covering other flavors. A simple classic, with a sincere and pleasant sip.
