Marques de Riscal Reserva is an emblematic wine from the renowned Rioja region, produced by the historic Marques de Riscal winery, founded in 1858. Made primarily with Tempranillo grapes, this Reserva fully expresses the elegance and complexity of the Basque-Spanish territory. Aging in French and American oak barrels for at least 24 months gives structure and depth, enriching the bouquet with delicate hints of vanilla, sweet spices, and light toasted notes. On the palate, it is harmonious, with soft tannins and well-balanced acidity that supports its long-lasting persistence.

This wine is ideal paired with red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses, enhancing savory and traditional dishes. Marques de Riscal Reserva tells the story through intense aromas and elegant complexity the richness of one of Spain’s most prestigious appellations, offering a refined and satisfying tasting experience.

Winery history
The property originated as a winery associated with the title of the Marchese de Riscal. Camilo Hurtado de Amézaga was the driving force behind the entrepreneurial transformation that led to the company's founding in the second half of the 19th century; the winery has a long tradition of producing Rioja and, from the 1970s onward, has also established itself in the Rueda appellation for white wines. During the 20th and 21st centuries the estate expanded its wine‑tourism focus by creating the "Ciudad del Vino" and building the iconic hotel designed by Frank Gehry.
Production philosophy
The estate declares a strong commitment to respecting the land and to wine quality: it promotes organic and regenerative farming practices aimed at preserving soil health, enhancing varietal character and adapting the vineyards to climate change. At the same time it seeks to combine tradition and innovation, opening the cellar to the public with tours and hospitality experiences.
