Merlot Rosso Friuli DOC from Pitars shows a bright ruby red color and an honest aromatic profile, dominated by ripe red fruit — cherry and plum — with herbal hints and delicate spicy notes. It has good freshness that supports the fruity character without becoming intrusive; on the nose there’s a pleasant simplicity that invites a sip. The overall structure is balanced, not overly structured, with soft tannins that define the framework without weighing it down. A subtle savory note on the finish adds lift.

On the palate it confirms the olfactory promise: the fruit is well-defined, and the wine is easy-drinking thanks to measured acidity and a silky tannic texture. It’s a versatile Merlot, suitable for everyday meals but able to accompany more savory preparations — roasts, white meats with mushrooms, cured meats and medium-aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18 °C to appreciate its fresh profile and persistence; excellent for those seeking a tasty, enjoyable wine without complications. It also works well as a table wine for informal dinners.
