Description

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC of the Linea Vigna Corvino from Az. Agricola Contesa is born in the heart of Abruzzo, a land rich in winemaking tradition and with a varied terroir, ideal for the expression of this native grape variety. This wine is made exclusively from Montepulciano grapes, which benefit from optimal ripening thanks to the temperate climate and the limestone-clay soils of the area. The handcrafted vinification and aging in steel allow preserving freshness and fruity aromas, maintaining an intense and harmonious structure.

In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red color, accompanied by aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and light spicy notes typical of the variety. The taste is full, enveloping, with soft tannins and a persistent finish that invites the next sip. An excellent companion to dishes based on red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses, this Montepulciano d'Abruzzo expresses the authenticity of the Abruzzo territory in every sip.

Winery history

Contesa was founded as a winemaking project linked to the Pasetti family; online sources describe the central role of Rocco Pasetti and his family in managing the estate. The cellar carved into the hillside was completed in the 2000s, and from there the estate developed several ranges of wines focused on the grape varieties typical of Abruzzo.

Production philosophy

Production aimed at enhancing the Abruzzo terroir and employing low-impact winemaking practices: selective use of wood, controlled fermentations, and attention to preserving the freshness of native grape varieties.
