The Albana di Romagna DOCG Passito 50cl from Leone Conti winery is a refined expression of one of Italy’s most cherished sweet wines. This wine stands out with its intense aromatic profile and elegant structure, making it perfect for moments of socializing or contemplation.

With its deep golden hue, typical of passito wines made from dried grapes, this Albana Passito reveals complex aromas of candied fruit, dried apricot, honey, and nuances of sweet spices on the nose. The winemaking process is carefully managed, following the traditions of the Romagna region, ensuring the preservation of varietal characteristics and enhancing the bouquet.

On the palate, the Leone Conti’s Albana di Romagna DOCG Passito features a sweetness well-balanced by a fresh acidity. The flavor persistence is remarkable, with a finish that recalls the scents sensed on the nose, adding a slight touch of oak that further enriches the palate.

This wine is particularly suited for pairing with desserts made with dried fruits, blue cheeses, or as a contemplative wine at the end of a meal. It is also an excellent candidate for aging, capable of developing further nuances in taste and aroma, underscoring the quality and craftsmanship of Leone Conti winery.

I recommend serving it at a temperature of about 12-14°C to enhance all its organoleptic qualities. A sensory experience that brings with it all the elegance and tradition of the Romagna territory.

Winery history
The Conti family has been involved in viticulture since the 1950s: it was Antonietta Conti who preserved local varieties such as Centesimino. In 1989 Leone Conti took over the estate and began its expansion; in 2013 Gianfrancesco Conti joined the estate, which completed a full conversion to organic farming in 2017. In 2018 the property also opened the Locanda della Fortuna, an agriturismo in the Faenza hills.
Production philosophy
It combines tradition, technology and creativity by working mainly with native grape varieties, following organic practices, hand-harvesting and keeping winemaking interventions to a minimum to express the terroir and biodiversity of the Colli Faentini.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the foothills of Faenza, between the localities of Santa Lucia and Oriolo dei Fichi, in a hilly landscape characterized by rich biodiversity and the deep-rooted winemaking tradition of Romagna.
