The Riesling Blauschiefer from Weingut Loersch is born in the heart of the Moselle, a region famous for its soils rich in blue slate, called "Blauschiefer," which give the wine a unique and distinctive minerality. This Riesling expresses itself with liveliness and purity, highlighting the fresh and aromatic character typical of the grape variety. On the nose, notes of citrus, white peach, and a delicate floral hint emerge, accompanied by a mineral background reminiscent of wet stone.

The palate is elegant, with a balanced structure and a lively acidity that gives the wine longevity and freshness. The aging takes place mainly in steel tanks, thus preserving aromatic transparency and territorial character. The Riesling Blauschiefer pairs wonderfully with fish dishes, shellfish, and Asian cuisine, enhancing their nuances without overpowering them. An ideal choice for those seeking an authentic and refined white wine, capable of telling the terroir of the Moselle with extreme precision.

Winery history
The Loersch family can trace its winemaking activity back to 1640. Today the estate is run by Alexander Loersch, who took over cellar responsibilities in the early 2000s and has developed a style focused on site- and vintage-typical Riesling. His father, Ernst-Albrecht, led the estate until 2008.
Production philosophy
Strong focus on terroir and the expression of individual vineyards: selective hand-harvest, gentle handling of the grapes, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts and extended ageing on the lees. Agronomic practices oriented towards naturalness.
Terroir and vineyards
Steep vineyards on Devonian schists and varied Moselle soils. Parcels and named crus include Trittenheimer Apotheke, Trittenheimer Altärchen, Dhroner Hofberg, Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, Neumagener Rosengärtchen and Leiwener Klostergarten. The estate is located on the Zummethöhe, between Leiwen and Trittenheim.
