Il Rum Grand Anejo Planteray presents a warm, enveloping character, where natural sweetness meets a savory structure and a soft tannic texture. On the nose emerge caramel, vanilla and dried fruit, with nuances of stone fruit, cocoa and sweet spices; the oak provides depth without being intrusive. The sip is rounded, full-bodied, with a silky sensation that balances the alcoholic heat; the finish is long, with returns of honey, light tobacco and a slight toasted note.

It is best appreciated neat, in a tulip glass or low tumbler, at room temperature or with a small cube that opens the aromas; a dash of water or a spritz of orange brings out its deeper extracts. It works both as a meditative digestif and as a base for cocktails with a mature profile. Pair it with dark chocolate, caramel-based desserts, nuts and aged cheeses; it also pairs well with cigars that aren’t too intense, when you seek an elegant, full-bodied sip.
