Planteray offers a Jamaican rum aged five years, part of the Dry Curacao Cask Selection: the distilled base retains that outgoing profile typical of the island, with fruity notes and a vein of molasses that supports the sip. The finishing in casks that previously held Dry Curaçao adds a layer of bitter citrus, orange zest and a slight bittering character that doesn't overpower but harmonizes with the tropical esters; at the same time light vanilla and delicate toasted spices emerge that give depth.

On the palate it's warm and enveloping: full-bodied, with a slightly oily texture and a balance between residual sweetness and citrusy freshness. The interplay between ripe fruit and the sapidity of the wood generates a pleasant persistence in which bitter orange returns to close the sip. Excellent enjoyed neat or over a large ice cube, it also lends itself to cocktails that showcase the orange notes; it pairs well with dark chocolate, aged cheeses or citrus-based desserts.
